                                           Flags

From its very beginning  this particular quilt reminded me of  the flags used on race tracks and that is why I named it flags.  It has appeared in connection with the Texas Folk life Gallery ,Austin, Texas in the exhibit
Quilts of Color: Four Generations in an Afro-Texan Family (1999). It was to be a gift to my second oldest daughter, but she died in 2008 ,three weeks after giving birth to twins.

It was hand pieced in 1998 and hand quilted in 1998-99.
